spring finds!

It is no secret that spring is my favorite season. Perhaps because of the fact that two of my three children were born in the spring, perhaps because of the wonderful blooms and blossoms, perhaps because of the color palette, or perhaps because the Easter bunny visits!

I thought I might share a few "springtime" finds to get you in the mood!

I love the colors in this pillow as well as the whimsical octopus design!

another first

It was two year old versus the sharp corner of furniture in the bonus room. Can you tell who won?

A first (of many black eyes, I am sure) in the Koehler household!

Glad the birthday photos have already been taken!

noah's kite party details

Once upon a time, on a sunny, blustery day in March a little boy named Noah Alden celebrated his second birthday with his family and friends! Noah was a very lucky boy to have special friends and family surround him on his special day.

We could not have asked for a more perfect windy March day for a kite theme! Noah and his friends played in the back yard with bubbles and balls, ran around under the sun and clouds, colored kites and enjoyed time together as friends. Noah's mommy wanted to do a "kite parade" with our handmade kites, but the children had other plans! Noah's mommy also had a "pin the tail on the kite" game to play... and forgot!

After playtime, we all enjoyed snacks of cheerios, orange slices, popcorn, goldfish, marshmallows and cantaloupe cups. Then, it was time for yummy cake. Decorated just like a kite themed party cake should have been, it was fabulous! Little Noah's favorite part were the fondant kites which he ate off the sides of the cake while his friends sang Happy Birthday!

After blowing out the candles it was more playtime and then opening gifts with his big brothers.

As the party was winding down, we handed out the party favors of fluffy "cloud like" cotton candy with spinning pinwheels attached to each of our guests. Then we bid farewell and shared final birthday wishes!

Happy Birthday Noah!

seven hundred and thirty days

Seven hundred and thirty days ago today my life and the life of my family changed forever! Seven hundred and thirty days ago today, we welcomed little Noah Alden into the world. I could not have been any happier at that moment when my family went from a fam of four to a fam of five!

It is so true, what "they" say about the third child. They are the easy ones and the laid back ones! They have to be! Noah has been complete joy from day one. He is his own little person, even though he learns so much from his amazing big brothers.

Happy Second birthday my little Noah Alden! We love you very much!!!!

This weekend we celebrated his second birthday with a little boy kite party and lots of outside play time! Details on the party to come!

the info on the invite

Oh, Noah's second birthday party invitation was so much fun! Definitely one of my personal favorites.

Here's the scoop. If you have read this blog over time, you have probably noticed that I adore shopping via Etsy.com, especially for paper goods. I contacted Donna at LemonadePaperie to see if she was interested in designing a little kite invite for me. I told her I had an idea in my head that I was trying to make work. This is what we came up with!

The invites were mailed out in a natural kraft cotton lined box. Ok, see if you can guess..... the cotton lining represented....... clouds! The kite "arrived" resting on the clouds!

And, LemonadePaperie also created a great wrap around matching label for me. The final presentation was just so cute I giggled all the way to the post office!

Well, the Koehler household is in "party mode" again. In less than one week "our baby" will turn two! Two??!!! What happened?!

I am VERY excited about the details of his little boy kite party!
